The Last Dance Episode 5-6 (Netflix)
Episode 5 was dedicated to Kobe Bryant.
First half talks about Kobe Bryant how he emulated Jordan to a point where out of due respect the dude did himself a carbon copy of Mike and saying he wouldn't have notched his ring if it weren't because of Michael. Talk about respect. Second half is about Mike himself, how it was to be like Mike, how to be Teflon like to be able to be like Mike. It's really tough to be a guy who everybody wants to emulate. It's like you are not meant to be human but almost saint-like in human perception, how if you did something wrong you are already bound to hell because of the wrong that you did and that was the topic of the next episode where Jordan finds himself vilified because of his constant gambling.
It took some luster off his star, the docu even talks about the Jordan Rules by Sam Smith, where Mr. Smith reported that Mike hasn't been as venerated by his teammates like the show they are making through the public. Then the gambling especially the one where they escaped New York and went to Atlantic City to gamble. That fodder-ed a lot of issue. Even going far as betting games which Mike didn't actually do. The new episodes explore the humanness of Michael Jordan. And that makes it interesting.
Review 4/5.
