Canned Tuna Pesto Pasta Recipe
One of the good things you can do while on quarantine is actually cook.
I have been cooking for two months now and the wife seems to like it (or at least pretend to). This is my go to recipe when I get bored and want a quick meal. I just discovered it and hope you like this one.
2 cloves garlic minced
1 onion small minced
1 can of tuna
1 lemon juiced
1/4 can of mushroom (or how many you like to put in)
250 grams of pasta
Parmesan Cheese (Grated)
5 tbsp of Olive Oil (whether extra virgin or virgin it's up to you)
Basil
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Put the pan on the fire. Put in the oil and stir fry the onion then the garlic for about 30 seconds.
2. Add the mushroom to the concoction. Stir fry for another 2-3 minutes.
3. Take off the juice of the tuna (it maybe in oil or water but what I do is leave some of it so that it wouldn't be dry and the taste sticks). Add the tuna to the pan and for about a minute add the lemon and basil and stir. Do this for 2-3 minutes then take the pan out. Add salt and pepper at your liking.
4. Next is boiling water in a pot. The water should cover the whole pasta.
5. When the water is starting to boil add 1 tbsp cooking oil so that the noodle doesn't stick to each other.
6. Add the pasta, continuously stir and cook until the pasta is al dente.
7. Reserve about 1/2 cup of the boiled water. Drain the others then put in the 1/2 cup water you just reserved just so the pasta don't look dried out then add the tuna concoction you left out. Just add parmesan cheese to your heart's content. .And voila! You have a delicious meal at your table!
Hope you like my recipe!
