Eddie the Eagle

The story of Mike Edwards AKA Eddie the Eagle.

The story starts with Eddie abandoning his house and trying to get into the Olympics. His father always shoots him down though her mother eggs him on. As a teen he abandons his dream of competing in the summer Olympics in favor of skiing in the winter Olympics. He tried in vain to make the team but was cut for being uncouth. It was then he realized he could compete as a ski-jumper, although much more dangerous as nobody else in the Brit team competed in the sports since six decades earlier.

Realizing his dream he comes to Germany to try his luck, there he meets Bronson Peary and alcoholic drunk who discourages him initially until Mike realizes that Peary was a former American Ski-jumping champion and try to persuade him to teach him the ropes. Ther he tries and tries until finally he can make the 40 m hill.

Now to qualify for the British team he must complete a jump from the 70 m hill. He does this and completes a successful jump with a distance of 34 m. Now, the Brit team in an effort not to shame themselves changes this and asks Eddie/Mike to complete a 61 m. Does he make it?
