So season one have us with Walter White dealing with Krazy-8 and his cousin Emilio and  how he sunk deeper into the Meth business. Season two starts with him and Pinkman dealing with another distributor but crazier and more brutal which is Tuco Salamanca.

See Tuco came up after Krazy-8 has gone missing. And he handles it with violence so that everyone he deals with toes the line. Boy, I really want to detail what went on but you really have to watch it yourself. It's craaaaazzzy! After that episode there was a vacuum in power in the Meth business. And who stepped up over that power vacuum? Your guess is as good as mine.
