Mortal Kombat 2021

What is it about?

A rehash of the previous movies, it has an excellent opening. It tells about the story of how Scorpion and Sub-Zero started out. The classic bout between the two is so epic you'd wish they made the whole movie about them, but alas, we need to get introduced to another bunch of characters which watered down the story in my opinion. After the epic intro we get to see Cole Young the young protagonist who loses a match in his MMA fight. We get to see Jax, Sonya, Kano, Kung Lao, Liu Kang and others as the movie gets along. We also learn that the Outworld by this time has won 9 tournaments and only require 1 more win to subjugate earth. So we need our champions to win this fight for us.

Why you should watch it?

Great opening scene that makes you want to see more. After that it's a let down for me but if you are a fan of the game there's a high likelihood that you'll love the fight scenes they made for this movie. You'll see some dash of fatalities here and there and Kano is quite entertaining himself.

Why you wouldn't watch it...

There's blood and gore. Movie is okay but aside from the opening scene it kinda fizzled out for me. Its like they forgot the story in favor of the action which is not always a bad thing if you like watching violent films such as John Wick, Blade of the Immortal etc. etc. So there you go.
